ASCEND
A 15-Day Men's Expedition Into The Himalayan Mountains of Nepal With Robbie Paterson & Andrew Leslie · Spring 2027
The Mountains Will Show You Exactly Who You Are.
Most Men Spend Their Whole Lives Avoiding That Moment.
15 days. Nepal. High altitude. Complete immersion.
This is not a holiday. It is not a retreat. It is the hardest and most clarifying thing you will do this year.
This is a RITE OF PASSAGE.
You've built something real.
The career. The business. The income. The discipline. The life that looks, from the outside, exactly like success.
And underneath all of it, a strain you can't quite name.
Not depression. Not crisis. Something more subtle than that.
A knowing that you've been running a race you didn't design, toward a finish line that keeps moving.
You don't need another podcast. Another book. Another weekend away that resets you for approximately four days before the noise comes back.
You need something that breaks you open properly.
Something that strips away every distraction, every performance, every version of yourself you've constructed for other people - and shows you what's underneath.
The Himalayas do that.
The mountains are beautiful, but they are indifferent.
The altitude doesn't care about your title. The pass doesn't care about your income. The mountain asks one question, over and over, for 14 days:
Who are you when everything else is gone?
Most men never find out.
ASCEND is for the ones who are ready to.
Why Nepal. Why This Route.
Mt. Manaslu. The 8th highest mountain in the world. 8,163 metres.
We don't summit it. We circumnavigate it - a route so remote, so demanding, and so rarely done that most trekkers never attempt it.
The Manaslu Circuit crosses the Larkya La Pass at 5,160 metres. We summit a 5,600m ridgeline. We spend nights in ancient monasteries. We cross glacial rivers. We walk through villages that haven't changed in centuries.
This is not a tourist trek.
It is one of the most demanding and most rewarding routes in the Himalayas - chosen specifically because it asks everything of you.
And because what it gives back is worth every step.
I've Done This. Here's What I Know.
I'm Robbie. I've spent the last decade going to the edges of human experience - three months in an Indian ashram meditating 13 hours a day, 6 days in complete darkness, breathwork ceremonies across three continents.
Nothing has tested me like altitude.
There's something that happens above 4,000 metres that no meditation retreat, no plant medicine ceremony, no cold plunge can replicate.
The ego runs out of oxygen first.
What's left - when the performance drops away, when the body is at its limit, when the only thing that matters is the next step - is something most men have never met.
Themselves. Actually themselves.
I've guided men through this. I've watched it happen. The shift isn't subtle. It doesn't fade when you get home.
That's why I keep coming back.
Andrew Leslie has spent years guiding men through physical and mental extremes - pushing bodies and minds past the point where most people stop. Together, we bridge the physical and the inner - the grit and the depth - in a way that neither of us could do alone.
This Journey Is For The Man Who:
Has built the life they said would make him happy - and still feels the hunger underneath
Is done consuming content about transformation and ready to actually experience it
Wants brotherhood that's real - not networking, not ego, not performance. Men who are genuinely in it
Knows there's a version of himself he hasn't met yet - and is ready to go find him
Wants to know what he's made of. Not in theory. Out there, where there's no hiding
This Is Not For The Man Who:
Wants a comfortable holiday with some mindfulness sprinkled in
Isn't willing to train and prepare physically beforehand
Needs constant stimulation, validation, or distraction
Isn't ready to be genuinely challenged - physically, mentally, and inwardly
This is an application-based expedition. Not every applicant will be accepted.
What Happens Over 14 Days
Day 1 — Arrival in Kathmandu You land in the beating heart of Nepal. Incense, ancient chants, electric energy. We gather as a group for the first time - welcome dinner, opening circle, intentions set. The journey begins.
Day 2 — Fire & Formlessness We strip away the surface. A fire ceremony - burning old stories, releasing what no longer belongs. Temple visits. The first real conversation. You begin to remember why you came.
Day 3 — Into The Mountains We leave comfort behind. An 8-hour off-road journey through the Himalayan wilds. Rivers roar. Cliffs loom. The unknown opens its arms. Silent grounding meditation beneath the stars.
Day 4 — Initiation Begins Boots hit the dirt. The sacred trail begins. Trek to Jagat (1,410m). Morning silence. Breath-led footsteps. The first day of walking. Of remembering.
Day 5 — Entering The Forest Waterfalls. Ancient forest paths. The veil thins. Silence speaks louder than words. Trek to Deng (1,800m).
Day 6 — The Struggle The air thins. The climb steepens. Your body resists. Your mind doubts. But you're not alone - the brotherhood rises with you. Cold river plunge. Breathwork. Trek to Namrung (2,630m).
Day 7 — The Mountain Within Manaslu appears - mighty, unmoved. You meet your own mountain within. Monastery prayer session above the village. Stillness speaks. Trek to Lho (3,180m).
Day 8 — The Slowing We rise into alpine energy. Every step becomes sacred. The outer trek mirrors the inner one. Trek to Samagaon (3,530m).
Day 9 — The Inner Quest No trekking. Just inner climbing. Rebirthing breathwork in open nature. Solo time in the wild. Storytelling circle under the stars. Something is dying. Something is being born.
Day 10 — Walking Into The Unknown The trail narrows. The land grows colder, barer. Group silence until lunch. Trek to Samdo (3,860m). You're not the man who started this journey.
Day 11 — Letting Go The final climb before the pass. Deep journaling. Cold stream immersion. Breathwork. Early rest. Tomorrow, you cross the threshold. Trek to Dharmashala (4,460m).
Day 12 — The Pass Before dawn, you rise. The world is frozen. Your breath is loud. One step at a time — you cross Larkya La (5,160m). Ceremonial silence on ascent. Summit ritual. You descend reborn. Trek to Bimthang (3,720m). Campfire under Himalayan stars.
Day 13 — The Wisdom Walk The descent is its own journey. You walk lighter. But you carry more. Trek to Dharapani (1,960m). Pine forests, rivers, reflections.
Day 14 — The Return The wild fades. Civilisation reappears. But you are not who you were. Drive to Kathmandu. Silent first hour — honouring the shift. Rooftop reflections. Final circle. Letter to your future self. Shiva temple blessing. Last dinner together.
You'll never be the same.

Andy isn’t just familiar with the Himalayas - he’s lived them. In 2024, he summited Everest, spending eight weeks in the world’s highest peaks, forging an unshakable resilience in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
With a background in performance coaching, breathwork, and mindset mastery, Andy understands what it takes to break through physical and mental barriers. His approach is about more than endurance—it’s about harnessing the mind and body as a single, powerful force.
Through breathwork, mental conditioning, and pushing the edges of what’s possible, Andy helps men access a level of strength they never knew existed.
-
Robbie has journeyed just as far - but inward. After two years of intensive Vedic meditation training, he spent three months in deep meditation in India, stepping beyond thought and into profound stillness.
From there, he took his practice to the mountains, completing the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, where he immersed himself in ancient wisdom, silence, and self-discovery.
Now, Robbie teaches men how to access the power of presence. He shows that true strength isn’t just in the body - it’s in the ability to move beyond the noise, expand awareness, and awaken to something greater.

FAQ
Do I need trekking experience? Mountain hiking experience is helpful but multi-day trekking experience isn't required. What you need is a strong mindset, a willingness to be challenged, and a commitment to preparing physically beforehand. We'll guide everything else.
How fit do I need to be? This is not a tourist trek. It will push you. Commit to a training programme in the months before and you'll be ready. We provide guidance on preparation after acceptance.
What about altitude sickness? Our Sherpa guides are among the most experienced in Nepal - several have summited Everest. Safety is the first priority. We monitor closely and adjust if needed.
I've never done meditation or breathwork. No problem. You'll learn everything on the journey. If you have - this will take your practice somewhere no studio ever could.
Can I come alone? Most men do. You'll leave with lifelong brothers.
How do I apply? Click below. Fill in the short application. If it feels like a fit, we'll jump on a call to discuss. We don't accept everyone - this keeps the group right.
One Last Thing
Most men will never do this.
They'll keep reading. Keep planning. Keep waiting for the right time.
But the right time is a myth.
There is only the moment you decide - and the man you become because of it.
The mountains are waiting.
The only question is whether you are.

What our Guests are Saying

Drishti M - Previous Retreat Guest
Last October, I took part in a meditation retreat with Omala and it was an incredible experience. While the beautiful location and peaceful atmosphere definitely contributed, the true highlight was our teacher, Robbie.
Robbie's knowledge of meditation practices was impressive. He wasn't just someone who had dabbled; he was a true expert who could explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging way. This made the workshops informative and helped me gain a deeper understanding of meditation. My personal highlight was the sound bath which was transformative.
Before the retreat, my meditation practice was inconsistent. I struggled to find the focus and motivation to make it a regular part of my life. But thanks to Robbie's guidance and encouragement, I left the retreat feeling inspired and equipped with the tools I needed to maintain a consistent practice.
If you're looking for a meditation retreat led by a knowledgeable and supportive coach, then look no further than Omala. And if you're lucky enough to have Robbie as your guide, you're in for a truly transformative experience. -

I took part in Robbie's mediation retreat last year. It was by far one of the best experiences I've ever had.
His calm manner and openness explains how you can get the most out of meditation. Age or level of experience doesn’t matter. I can recommend it to everyone! One of the best investments in your own life.
