THE ART OF HUMAN BEING
Learn Vedic Meditation in France
With Robbie Paterson
Art of Mondays Founder Residency
12-17 JULY 2026
The mind doesn't really switch off when you're building something.
It stays on. Most founders never quite learn how to put it down. Always slightly ahead of themselves, building from a mind that never really rests.
And the work (and life) you most want to make rarely comes from that state. It lives beyond the noisy surface, in a kind of presence that gets harder to reach the busier you get. I spent years trying to find my way back to it, and this is the thing that finally did, every day, on demand.
That's why weāre bringing it to France. Welcome to Vedic Meditation.
What is Vedic Meditation, and why is it different?
Most meditation techniques ask you to concentrate, or control, or clear your mind.
Vedic Meditation asks for none of that.
Instead, you're given a personalised Sanskrit mantra. A specific sound with a particular vibrational quality, chosen for you. It isn't a chant, or an affirmation. Think of it more as a vehicle, something that carries your awareness inward when you stop interfering with it.
You sit comfortably, eyes closed, and let the mantra in gently. You don't force it or grind through it on repeat. You allow it.
What happens next is almost counterintuitive, your awareness starts to settle. Thoughts slow down. The nervous system, which has been running on high alert for months or years, finally begins to release its grip.
You drop beneath the surface noise into something quieter. Deeper, and more fundamental than the chatter you've been living inside.
That's transcendence. And it's available to you in the very first session.
Why this is worth four days of a founder's time
Underneath the planning and the replaying, there's a state of mind which all the worlds wisdom traditions have always pointed to. That's where your clearest decisions come from. It's where most of your best ideas were hiding the whole time, the ones that never show up while you're grinding through the screen.
A coherent nervous system gives you cleaner thinking when the pressure's on. Less reactivity when the conversation gets hard and a steadiness that doesn't rise and fall with the next launch being a success. It reaches stress that's been sitting in your body for years, the kind sleep and training never quite touch.
This is not relaxation. It's an upgrade to the system everything else you do is running on.
The opportunity in France
Four sessions of around 90 minutes, in person, across the residency. A small group of us, capped at 10.
I take you from never having done this to a complete, self-sufficient daily practice you keep for life.
Day one is your initiation. One-to-one. You receive your mantra and meditate properly for the first time, in the room with me.
Day two, we refine your technique and get into the actual science of what's happening in your body. Why it works, and how it starts to unwind what years of being switched-on does to a nervous system.
Day three is the bigger picture. The Vedic understanding underneath the practice. You don't have to believe a word of it. It just helps your own experience make sense.
Day four is integration. How you carry this into a loud, demanding, building-something life and actually keep it.
"Meditation hasn't really worked for me so far, which is why I was curious to learn it with guidance. I joined without any expectations - just to experience and feel. Robbie created a wonderfully peaceful space where I instantly felt at ease. This experience has deeply enriched my life and my connection to myself." ā Anna
"I'd tried other meditation techniques before, but this was the first time I actually felt what meditation is supposed to feel like. For the first time, it became part of my daily life." ā Jon
What you walk away with
A meditation practice that runs on its own. No discipline battle, no forcing your way into stillness.
A nervous system that finally gets to properly rest, somewhere deeper than sleep reaches.
A personal mantra that's yours for good.
And a teacher and a worldwide community you can come back to anytime, anywhere, free, for life. You don't finish this and move on, you keep it.
āāThe thing about meditation is: You become more and more you.āā

Who's teaching it
I'm a Vedic Meditation teacher trained in the Shankaracharya lineage, one of the oldest living meditation traditions there is. I graduated from my 2 year Initiator training at an ashram in southern India, where I meditated up to thirteen hours a day and shed most of who I'd thought I was over 3 months of non-stop deep meditation. Iām also the founder of Cairn, where we take men on rites of passage across the peak of Patagonia, the Andes and the Himalayas.
Grounded in science. Rooted in something older.
Securing your place
ā¬500 for the full four-day course in France.
That's a flat founder rate for the residency. The mantra is yours for life, the course you can retake with any affiliated teacher anywhere in the world for free, forever, and the teacher comes with it.
There are ten places. Four days of one-to-one and small-group teaching is the most I can do properly across the week, so that's the cap.
If you've read this far and something in you is leaning in, that's usually the part worth listening to.

About Robbie
Meditation & Wisdom Teacher, Life Enthusiast
Certified Vedic Meditation teacher, trained in the Shankaracharya lineage. One of the oldest and most rigorous meditation traditions still alive today.
In November 2023, I left everything familiar behind.
I'd been practising meditation since 2017 and completed two years of pre-training before entering one of the most intense teacher training programmes in the world. A three-month immersion in an ashram in India. I meditated up to 13 hours a day, learned from masters, studied ancient knowledge, and slowly shed layer after layer of who I'd thought I was.
It wasn't an adventure in the usual sense, it was more like a complete inner rewiring.
I came face to face with my patterns. My fears. The things I'd been avoiding for a long time. And underneath all of it, more subtle than I expected and far more solid than anything I'd built on the outside, I found something I hadn't felt in years.
Stillness. Real stillness.
That's why I teach this.
Because I know what it's like to look like you've got it all together and feel scattered and disconnected underneath. I know what it's like to chase success, always moving, always reaching, and still feel the gap where something should be.
Vedic Meditation changed how I see everything. The noise quietened, clarity Iād never experienced before, and the life I'd been chasing somewhere out there started to feel like something I was finally present enough to actually live.
Trained in India. Teaching in Europe. Available to you, for life.
